Books and Sensibilty on Broadway
While attendingBookExpo America last week, Kat and I got some crazy good deals on Broadway shows (TodayTix and Tkts are amazing !) . Both of which happened to fit the theme of the week. We saw the play adaptation of the novel A Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and Chicago. . . which is appropriate because BEA is going to be in Chicago next year.

If At First You Don’t Succeed Chai and Chai Again
Every weekend we like to take a step from the behind the books and share a little insight on the people behind the blog. Whether it’s what we’re into this week, new hobbies , tv rants or just a fun experience, we’re an open book !
I like to mix these together. The pumpkin spice is so good but seasonal.
Look out for it next fall ! |
When I’m ready to read I need a caffeine kick to keep me focused. Lately, my quick go to beverage is a creamy vanilla chai tea latte. The cinnamony-pepperiness of the chai goes so well with sweet creamy vanilla.
I discovered chai tea in college when I was working on a group project at Starbucks. Someone ordered a Vanilla Chai Tea Frappuccino and I decided to try one to cause it sounded classy. I was blown away by the creamy, sweet, peppery spice flavor.
This winter I discovered the Tazo chai latte mix on sale and (as you do at Target) I bought it. The boxed chai is so simple to make. . . just add warm milk !
I call mine creamy because I customize it by adding in a pump or two of Torani’s Vanilla Syrup. Then to make it extra rich I froth up the warm milk with my Aerolatte milk frother.

Children’s Author Breakfast
Jess and I left our hotel extra early to arrive at the Children’s Author Breakfast. At first we had a hard time finding a table that wasn’t reserved by a publishing house. It was starting to feel hopeless when we found a table of YA bloggers including Kristi from The Story Siren, Cat from Beyond Books, April from Good Books and Good Wine, Anna from Anna Reads, Tara fromFiction Folio ,Tara from Hobbitsiesand one or two other bloggers I know I’m forgetting. We were sitting closest to April and I just have to say she is so kind and great–it was awesome meeting her….
