Every weekend we like to take a step from the behind the books and share a little insight on the people behind the blog. Whether it’s what we’re into this week, new hobbies , tv rants or just a fun experience, we’re an open book !
I like to mix these together. The pumpkin spice is so good but seasonal.
Look out for it next fall ! |
When I’m ready to read I need a caffeine kick to keep me focused. Lately, my quick go to beverage is a creamy vanilla chai tea latte. The cinnamony-pepperiness of the chai goes so well with sweet creamy vanilla.
I discovered chai tea in college when I was working on a group project at Starbucks. Someone ordered a Vanilla Chai Tea Frappuccino and I decided to try one to cause it sounded classy. I was blown away by the creamy, sweet, peppery spice flavor.
This winter I discovered the Tazo chai latte mix on sale and (as you do at Target) I bought it. The boxed chai is so simple to make. . . just add warm milk !
I call mine creamy because I customize it by adding in a pump or two of Torani’s Vanilla Syrup. Then to make it extra rich I froth up the warm milk with my Aerolatte milk frother.
The boxed chai is nowhere near as robust as what you get at Starbucks, but the pumpkin spice chai comes very close. The pumpkin flavor chai is only available in the fall but, I loved it so much I ordered 3 boxes online when they were going out of season. If you see it around this Fall be sure to grab some.
I also can’t wait to try Oprah Chai !

Heat up chai concentrate in mug of your choice. In a sepreate container heat up milk. Add syrup to hot milk and froth with milk frother or whisk. Pour milk over chai latte concentrate, then spoon on chai. sprinkle with cinnamon for extra spicy flavor.
*Torani’s syrup can be found at the Torani Online Store or in various grocery stores. Monin is also my go to for syrups.
Are you a fan of chai tea lattes ? Do you have a favorite recipe or blend ?
