Waiting on Wednesday Vol. 3

October 5, 2011      19 Comments

Legend by Marie Lu

I’ve been waiting for this novel after reading this articlein the Wall Street Journal (Okay, I saw it on the gossip site ONTD)  about books that could be the next Harry Potter.

I’m so psyched for this novel because it is a dystopian novel and is being compared to the Hunger Games series.I’ve been entering every contest I can find just to have a chance to receive an ARC or giveaway copy.

If you see any other contest or giveaways send them my way !

What the Epigraph ?

I love epigraphs! You know, those little quotes, poems or phrases at the beginning of books? I bet you’ve flipped past them without a second look sometimes. Epigraphs are cool because they are like clues to what is about to happen in the book. Sometimes they tie the book to a greater piece of work or set up for some important themes in the novel.

BAS is taking part in the In My Mailbox meme started by The Story Siren. Each week bloggers post books that have arrived in their mailbox, picked up from the bookstore or purchased. Here are some books I’m getting ready to read.

Today’s post is brought to me by the library. This is the first time I’ve gotten a haul from a library in years. I can pick out as many as I want without worrying about buying something I don’t like.

Princess Bookie’s Cover Re-Design Contest : Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

September 28, 2011      2 Comments

A few days ago we made a post gently mocking the cover of Jennifer L Armentrout’s Obsidian. When I saw Princess Bookie’s Recreate a Cover Contest I decided to try my own hand at re-imagining this cover. I am not the best with photoshop, but I tried.

For my image I used a picture from the UK Glamour photoshoot of Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz. The building in the background is Olgebay Hall at West Virginia University, I got the image via Bawwomick.

Paranormal romance isn’t always my speed, but I have blogged about this book so much I am probably going to go out and get it.

B&S is taking part in the In My Mailbox meme started by The Story Siren. Each week bloggers post books that have arrived in their mailbox, picked up from the bookstore or purchased. Here are some books I’m getting ready to read.

I picked both  of these up fromMcKay’s Used Bookstore.

City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare

I’m making my way through The Mortal Instruments series. This is the third in the six book series.

Into The Woods By Tana French

I passed by this book so many times in the college bookstore. I don’t know much about it but have heard that it is a Mystery/Thriller.
