“Write what you know, and some will be able to relate”
– Miranda Kenneally
On Saturday Kat and I supported our local bookstore and went to an event featuring Miranda Kenneally, author of Catching Jordan.
Kennally had a great presence, she discussed how Catching Jordan was about breaking down gender stereotypes. She wanted to show that girls can do just about anything boys can.
We even learned a little bit more about her next books; Stealing Parker and A Bad, Bad Thing which deal with sexuality, abortion and religion. They sound really complex and original I can’t wait to read them !
She also told us that the rival schools in Catching Jordan were named after malls in Tennessee, so she wouldn’t hurt any other school’s feeling.
If you want a signed copy of Catching Jordan from the event, you can purchase one atFountain Bookstores Website for only 8.99 !
What was most memorable was meeting other book lovers and future YA authors at this event.
