This week’s Sense List is a round up of all our favorite YA book news that went down in August !

TV/Film

  • This YA film seems to have slipped our radar. Luce and Daniel from Lauren Kate’s Fallen have been cast.
  • The director of Mean Girls, Mark Waters,talks about  his approach to  adapting Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy among all the other YA adaptations who are  trying to make fetch happen.
  • Someday, Someday Maybe the debut novel from Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood) is set to be adapted into a TV series for the CW

On The Web

  • Sarah J. Maas and Susan Dennard release the first two chapters of their Tumblr based web serial,  The Starkillers Cycle.

 

  • Kami Garcia’s (Beautiful Creatures) newest series, Unbreakable, has a trailer

 

  • “New Adult books are about life–they’re about living” – Rachel Van Dyken In Defense of The New Adult Genre

 

  • Books in motion !Pitch Dark Days has 17 amazingly animated book cover

Publishing

  • Ann Brashares (Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants) is set to publish her first  novel outside the Sisterhood series. 

 

  • With both of her YA novels up for films,author Ally Carter writes about Hollywood, doubters, and voting with your wallet in the YA age. The Mortal Instruments author  Cassandra Clare responds with her own experiences.

 

  • You will be able to find Entangled’a best sellers and backlist title in you local library E-lending system.

 

  • Sara J. Maas’ novellas for her Throne of Glass series will soon be available in aprint anthology, The Assassin’s Blade,  expected out in March 2014.
