Oxford student Samantha Shannon received a massive amount of buzz for her debut novel, The Bone Season, in Fall 2013. The novel is the first in a seven book series set in futuristic London. It debuted at #7 on The New York Times Bestseller List. Twitter | Blog

In 2014 YA author and book blogger Lindsey Cummings debuts one but two novels. The YA futuristic thriller, The Murder Complex, and a middle grade series, The Balance Keepers. Twitter | Blog
8. Stephanie Diaz, 20
Stephanie Diaz received the publishing deal for her science fiction novel Extraction while still in college. The novel releases in Summer 2014 and tells the story of sixteen-year-old Clementine, who gets the opportunity to leave the dystopic surface of her home planet and move to the utopic Core. Sara’s debut novel, Snow Like Ashes, focuses on Meira a “fierce chakram-wielding warrior” who is destined to free the people of Winter from the enslavement of the King of Spring. The novel will be published by Balzer + Bray in Fall 2014. Twitter | Tumblr
