2013 Title Twins

Ever notice how many YA titles are getting similar titles ? Here are a few we've noticed.

So, quick ! Which of these do you think of first when you hear the title ?

Do you know any more title twins coming out ?

  1. Wow, I hadn't noticed these, but you're definitely right. I also like cover twins. Those are even funnier.

  2. Oooh good call! What is it with overlapping titles? I think authors need to branch out more and come up with titles like Between the Devil and the Deep Blue sea. Now that's a ringer.

  4. Some of those covers are definitely better than the other, that's for sure. I'd be horrified if I found out I had titled my book the same as a current YA novel. Did it take you very long to find these? If not, that's sad!

  5. It actually wasn't too hard. A lot of these came from when I would see a Tweet about a book and then click on the link and see that it wasn't the book I originally thought it was.

  8. It IS confusing! And I see that in the post below you posted on a title change. I wish they'd kept the original title for that one!

  10. Loving the latest look ladies!

Wow some of these are like insanely similar (Altered by a Gennifer and Jennifer?!) and it doesn't help that the Vortex covers look very similar in color and design.

I think Kelly over at Stacked did a similar post -- it was more from the perspective of how same or similar book titles can make a librarian's job difficult.

  11. Kelly did do a similar post called Title Doubles. Surprisingly all the books in this post came out (some with new covers) in 2013

  13. When I saw Kami Garcia's Unbreakable, I was confused because I had thought it had already been published, but it just had the same title as Elizabeth Norris's book. :P

And the Vortex book, I really thought the publishers decided to change the covers, not that it was two totally different books. Ha. So confusing!

  14. It's amazing how many YA books have the same titles! Thank God I don't get mixed up too easily, so it's still fairly easy to remember them all. That's the problem with one word titles, haha. The covers look really similar, too. Both Frozens have something going on with their "o's" and both Vortexes have the same color scheme. One day it's going to get really confusing!
