ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY
Sweetapolita’s Bakery Style Vanilla Cupcakes |
Let me preface this by saying I remember a moment when I was around 14 years old in Borders buying a book for a road trip. I remember looking through the YA shelves and thinking about how sad I was going to be when I was an “adult” and couldn’t read YA anymore.

Fast foward 8 years later when I first came up with the idea to start a blog because I wanted to post my thoughts on Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones series. I started the blog and posted some articles on the recent YA book phenomena thinking no one would ever read it and that I was being so original.
Then Kat told me about a call to promote book blogs at http://ilovereadingandwriting.tumblr.com/page/91 , a popular bookish tumblr.
We were lucky enough to be one of the first 15 blogs to get a shout out ! (PS. Just realized Alexa Loves Books is also on there and I would later meet her in line at BEA, what are the chances ?)
I clicked around on Novels Days and then started exploring her scrolling side bar, then I joined the Book Blog Ning where I
learned about book memes and publishers. Let me tell you, I had no idea that such a community existed and since then it has been a never ending journey. I was flabbergasted by all the book blogs waiting to be
explored on Waiting on Wednesday and In My Mail Box. Suddenly my non-existent bookshelf became a toppling TBR pile.
If you would have asked me a year ago if I thought I would
be going to a NYC book conference, trekking to book signings and meeting with other book
lovers I would have never believed it.
Despite the drama and controversy the book blogging
community, it has a lot to offer and is one I’m happy to be apart of it. Here is to another year !
Thanks to all the followers, readers, fellow bloggers and publishers who have helped
make this a year to remember. Here is to many more.
