Shatter Me, The Across The Universe series, An Abundance of Katherines and Sarah Dessen novels ! So many YA novels got makeovers this summer. We wanted to see if we could predict the next series to get a cover redesign. These are our guesses, which do you think will get a redesign ?
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood
Okay so this one is based on something Spotswood mentioned at an author event. She said that some felt the cover was a little to "sexy" for YA.
Illuminate by Aimee Agresti
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
With The Book Thief being adapted into a film I'm betting that this book will soon be sporting a redesign or a movie tie-in cover.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
The model on this cover is pretty but she doesn't lend much to flexibility. I mean what is she going to face the other way ? I think the next cover might have a full body shot or something less up close and personal.
Which books do you think will (or wish would ) get a redesign next ?

I also posted about cover redesigns today! I hope they don't change Born Wicked or For Darkness Shows the Stars - I think they're both beautiful! I think if they re-did Throne of Glass to look more like the UK version - a kick-ass girl with a big sword - then it would make sense in terms of the plot.
ReplyDeleteBut to be honest, I hate cover redesigns midseries (which is what my post is about) - now I have to go out and re-buy the same book so I can have a matching set! I think they should release the final book with two covers, so those who started with the original set can complete theirs (even if its a limited time release or something).

ReplyDeleteThe Book Thief is being adapted?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hate the mid-series redesigns too. I read your post, it's a good one!
ReplyDeletei definitely didn't know the last one was austen-inspired!
ReplyDeleteFor Darkness Shows the Stars is a science fiction story. So the cover is perfect: science fiction plus romance.
ReplyDeleteI guess for me the cover seemed more like a space fantasy to me because of all the stars. I guess that is what I get for judging a book by it's cover !
ReplyDeleteI would completely love Nevermore by Kelly Creagh to get a cover redesign! It's horrendous. :(
