In My Mailbox Vol. 6

Books & Sensibility is taking part in the In My Mailbox meme started by The Story Siren. Each week bloggers post books that have arrived in their mailbox, picked up from the bookstore or purchased. Here are some books I'm getting ready to read.

We got some AMAZING DEALS this week. All these books were only 6.00 ! We went to the library sale and on the last day they give you a paperbag and you can fill it up for $3.00. We traded most of the books at the used bookstore, but kept some.

*We had some Patricia Cromwell, James Fray and John Grisham hardbacks we couldn't trade. If you'd like one e-mail us*

Won by Jess

I won these from Reading In Color's  C.O.L.O.R/Better World Books giveaway. Such a wonderful blog, everyone should check it out !

Whale Talk By Chris Crutcher
This book is YA literature at it's best, it deals with tough issues with character you can get invested in.

Feed by M.T Anderson
A sci-fi futuristic book, I read it in high school and sort of liked it. Maybe I'll give it a second chance

Speak by Laura Halse Anderson
A prolific book that I have heard so much about, yet I have not read.

Books-A-Million

Peace, Love and Baby Ducks
After hearing about the Lauren Myracle controversy with the NBA I decided to try one of her books I saw on sale !

Free

Dreamland by Sarah Dessen This book was sitting in the free pile at the used bookstore. This was my first Sarah Dessen book back in high school

Library Sale

Before I Die by Jenny Downham
Downham's You Against Me has been on a lot of book blogs, this is her first book

Dangerous Distractions by Beverly Barton
I've always wanted to read a Sillhoute/Harlequinn type book.

A Voice in The Dark by Jenna Ryan
My first Harlequin !

The Road by Cormac McCarthy
So, one of my English professors said he went to college with McCarthy and he hardly showed up for class.

Gone by Lisa McMann
We got Wake last week, so it seemed only fitting. It was missing it's jacket but, what are you going to do.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
I read this in 10th grade and I think it was too complex for me. I wonder how reading it know will affect me.

Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld.

Love, Love, love, this book.  I actually have a worn out paperback and when I saw 2 hardcovers I had to get them. We may give one away in a follower giveaway . . .

Memoirs of a Geisha
I don't know why the used bookstores wouldn't take this copy. So, I  will kept it and maybe one day I'll read it.

Richard McKay's Used Book Store

Vampire Knight #1
Got the 3rd one last week and I found the first one in mint condition at the used book store.

  1. The Lovely Bones is an interesting book. I bought it when I was in university back around 2001 -- 2002. I am reading You Against Me right now and really enjoying it. I've heard interesting things about If I Die and I will want to eventually check that out. (Right after I stock up on chocolate, tea and tissues -- heard it's a tear jerker.)

  2. Enjoy all your new books. I read Lovely Bones a long time ago, but I think I was too young for it. I would like to try it again. Prep is one that I would like to read. Happy reading!

  10. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yes I went to Strand! I LOVE it and I go there as often as I can, but it's dangerous since I can spend a lot of time there AND a lot of money:P

I don't understand why the bookstore just didn't take the books! I guess when it's a trade situation they become a bit more finicky. *shrugs* their lost.
